Share

Sylvia Ann Hooper, a longtime Fillmore resident, has died at the age of 86 after a brief illness.

Hooper, who died Wednesday, had lived in Fillmore for 64 years and was an active member of the Fillmore Bible Church.

She and her husband, who died in 1981, were the first couple married in the church when they exchanged vows on Nov. 2, 1930. The wedding started a family tradition that continued with the marriages of her daughter and granddaughter in the same church, daughter Dorthy Delameter said.
