Mario Bennett had 20 points and 10 rebounds and 13th-ranked Arizona State pulled away in the final two minutes Saturday night to beat No. 18 Oregon, 79-76, at Eugene, Ore.

The Sun Devils, 14-5 and 4-3 in the Pacific 10, sealed the victory with three driving layups, two by Quincy Brewer and one by Marcell Capers, after Oregon had tied the score at 69 with 4:12 remaining.

“This helps out, because I’ve had a tough weekend, guys, losing at Oregon State and I got robbed,” Sun Devil Coach Bill Frieder said.

He didn’t mean a bad call, either. Someone broke into Frieder’s hotel room Friday night and stole, among other things, about $5,000 in team expense money.

Oregon (12-4, 4-3) lost its second in a row at home and Arizona State ended a two-game losing streak.

Orlando Williams led Oregon with 19 points.

The Ducks had one field goal in the final 4:12, a three-pointer by Darryl Parker with three seconds left.

No. 12 Arizona 111, Oregon State 98--Damon Stoudamire scored 26 points and led the Wildcats (15-4, 5-2) on an 18-2 run to start the second half in a rout of the Beavers (5-11, 2-5) at Corvallis, Ore.

Stoudamire scored eight points as Arizona extended a 54-48 halftime lead. The 111 points were the most scored against Oregon State by a Pacific 10 opponent.

Washington State 74, Washington 73--Isaac Fontaine (16 points) scored the go-ahead basket with 3:38 remaining and the Cougars (10-5, 5-2) held off a Husky (5-10, 1-6) rally in the final seconds at Pullman, Wash.
