Foothill 4, El Modena 3--Unranked Foothill came back with three goals in the second half to upset No. 7 El Modena (16-5, 6-1). Janna Arbanas started the second-half scoring drive for Foothill (6-7-3, 3-2-1).

In the Empire League:

Cypress 11, Century 0--Mercedes Schroeder scored three goals and Michelle Woiemberghe and Annie Norum each had two for Cypress (16-2-2, 5-0-1), ranked second in Division III.

Fullerton 1, Troy 1--Marianne Emigh tied the score with 10 minutes remaining for Fullerton (5-10-3, 2-4-1). Erin Christenson scored for Troy (6-0-1 in league).

Sunny Hills 6, Sonora 0--Demerese Salter scored all of her three goals in the first half for Sunny Hills (10-9-1, 6-1). Teammate Megumi Takasaki had two goals.

In the Golden West League:

Ocean View 6, Saddleback 0--Kim Engesser had four goals for No. 6 Ocean View (16-1-2, 7-0).

In the Pacific Coast League:

University 3, Laguna Beach 0--Cary Clark, Kate Pierson and Rachel Homer each scored for first-place University (7-5-4, 5-0-2).

In the Sunset League:

Marina 4, Huntington Beach 0--Kristen Palmer scored three goals, giving her 18 on the season, and Cassie Campbell added her 16th goal for top-ranked Marina (13-0-1, 5-0-1), which saw Jenny Benson, last year’s most valuable player, return to action after sitting out all season with a knee injury.

In Olympic League boys’ soccer:

Orange Lutheran 3, Cerritos Valley Christian 0--Junior Matt Stiles scored twice for Orange Lutheran (13-3-4, 2-2-2). Sophomore Eric Van De Zilver scored and had two assists. Chad Griswold recorded his eighth shutout for the Lancers.

In Sunset League girls’ field hockey:

Santiago 2, Edison 0--With the victory Santiago clinched its 12th consecutive league championship. Freshman Lucy Le scored the first goal for the Cavaliers (20-4-3, 10-0-1) six minutes into the game, off an assist from junior Camelia Rodriguez. In the second half, Rodriguez scored on an assist from Veronica Velasquez with 12 minutes left. Goalkeeper Cossette Verona recorded her 18th shutout for Santiago. Edison is 10-2-1, 10-2.
