Bennett’s 24, Veal’s 19 Lead Arizona State

TEMPE, Ariz. —
Mario Bennett had 24 points and 14 rebounds, and freshman Jeremy Veal scored a career-high 19 points as No. 16 Arizona State beat Washington State, 87-60, Sunday.
Bennett was 12 of 23 from the foul line, setting a school record for free-throw attempts in a game.
The game was tied at 36 with 17:15 left, but Arizona State, 16-5 overall and 5-3 in the Pacific 10, outscored the Cougars, 32-10, over the next 11:34 to take a 68-46 lead. The Cougars fell to 10-7, 5-4.
