Huntington Beach Attic Gutted in Fire
HUNTINGTON BEACH —
A fire that apparently started from a fireplace gutted the attic of a three-bedroom house on Whitney Drive on Monday and caused $75,000 damage.
A 59-year-old couple noticed smoke through their fireplace about 7 p.m. and ran outside to discover a portion of their attic was on fire, said Battalion Chief Mick Terich. They called 911 and moved their car out of the garage, he said.
