HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER ROUNDUP : Westlake Stuns Simi Valley, 3-1
Stacia Spangler scored her 15th and 16th goals in the first half as Westlake upset top-ranked Simi Valley, 3-1, in the championship match of the Marmonte League girls’ soccer tournament.
Sarah Aberle added a second-half goal and Angela Paymard made four saves for the Warriors (18-2-2, 10-1-1).
Beth Thompson scored for Simi Valley. Both teams have qualified for the Southern Section playoffs.
Chatsworth 2, Granada Hills 1--Kim Pickup’s goal with 10 minutes left broke a 1-1 tie for the Northwest Valley Conference champion Chancellors (15-1-1, 12-0).
Louisville 1, Chaminade 1--Kim Daws’ goal with three minutes left in the second overtime was disallowed and Chaminade (7-1-1) escaped with a tie in a Mission League match.
Birmingham 3, Sherman Oaks CES 2--Rochelle Seliga’s goal gave the Braves a 3-0 lead midway through the second half before Griselda Lopez scored on a pair of penalty kicks in the Mid-Valley/North Conference match.
Notre Dame 1, Flintridge Sacred Heart 0--Kalli Fernandez scored and Karin Klemic recorded her 10th shutout in a Mission League match at Notre Dame.
Royal 2, Newbury Park 1--Theresa Bartholomew made a penalty kick and Kelly Adamson also scored for the Highlanders in a Marmonte League match.
La Reina 4, Bishop Diego 0--Samantha Conroy had two goals and an assist for the Regents (18-2-1, 10-0) in a Tri-Valley League match at Bishop Diego.

Birmingham 4, Taft 1--Birmingham earned a tie for the Northwest Valley title.
Simi Valley 2, Royal 1--John Gonzalez scored the winning goal from eight yards with 20 minutes left in the championship match of the Marmonte tournament.
Crespi 4, Chaminade 3--Mike Lafamina scored two goals for the Celts in a Mission League match.
Paraclete 1, Desert Christian 0--Vince Burton scored and Jason Godde recorded his fourth shutout for the Spirits (8-8-2, 7-0-2) in a High Desert League match.
Calabasas 5, Santa Clara 1--Nick Forland scored two goals for the Coyotes (12-2-2, 5-1-2) in a Frontier League match.
Palmdale 3, Quartz Hill 1--Murad Dibbini scored twice as the Falcons (17-6-1, 7-3) clinched second place in the Golden League.
