The Village Christian girls’ basketball team gave John Domke his 100th career victory by defeating St. Matthias, 119-16, in the first round of the Southern Section Division IV-A playoffs on Wednesday night at Village Christian.

“It is embarrassing that it came that way,” Domke said. “Obviously, that game wasn’t good for them, and it doesn’t help us prepare for the second round.”

Village Christian (20-4) took a 36-3 lead in the first quarter, making 14 of 17 shots.

Trisha Palmquist had 25 points, 17 rebounds and nine assists for Village Christian. Lindy James had 22 points, nine assists and nine steals.

St. Matthias finished 4-5.

DIVISION I-AA FIRST ROUND

Simi Valley 61, Glendale 38--Simi Valley (23-4) trailed, 19-17, early in the second quarter before settling down. Tawnee Cooper scored 28 points and had a season-high 20 rebounds for Simi Valley. Alendoush Khachikin scored 13 points for Glendale (11-11).

DIVISION I-A FIRST ROUND

Thousand Oaks 69, Saugus 33--Jen Detmer scored 16 points as host Thousand Oaks (18-9) outscored Saugus, 33-13 in the second half. Courtney Miller chipped in 12 points for the Lancers.

DIVISION II-AA FIRST ROUND

Alemany 62, Santa Barbara 19--Carly Funicello scored eight of her 17 points for the Indians (21-4) during a 22-2 run in the third quarter at L.A. Baptist High.

Crescenta Valley 74, North Torrance 53--Freshman guard Michelle Greco scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the host Falcons (22-6).

Amirah Leonard added 20 points and eight rebounds for Crescenta Valley.

Rio Mesa 51, Righetti 50--Carol Saldana’s two free throws with 11 seconds left gave the Spartans (16-8) a three-point lead. Righetti made two free throws before time ran out.

DIVISION III-AA WILD CARD

Rosary 78, Moorpark 47--Tracy Milburn scored 14 points and Tina Milburn had 13 points and 12 rebounds but the visiting Musketeers (14-6) lost to the Royals (16-5).

Azusa 47, Littlerock 45--Gina Montiel made a three-pointer with 1:37 left and made two free throws with 26 seconds left to give Azusa (11-10) a victory at Littlerock.

Jackie Lewis led Littlerock (13-10) with 15 points.

DIVISION III-A FIRST ROUND

Calabasas 63, San Marino 61--Melissa Krolik had 21 points and 17 rebounds--including six of Calabasas’ nine points in the second overtime--to give the Coyotes (15-6) their first playoff victory since 1981.

Cathleen Curran made her first three-pointer with nine seconds left in the first overtime to tie the score, 54-54, and force the final period.

Jamie Apody added 15 points for Calabasas.

Elizabeth Rondell had 18 for San Marino (11-12).

DIVISION IV-AA WILD CARD

Louisville 59, Whitney 40--Adriane Bilek had 16 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots for host Louisville (12-11).

Rosie Chingcuangco added 15 points for the Royals, while Becky Witt contributed 12 points, 10 rebounds, eight steals and eight assists.

Oak Park 61, Marlborough 48--Alisha Valvanis scored 21 points to lead Oak Park (17-8). Sister Alexa Valvanis had 16.

DIVISION IV-A FIRST ROUND

Bell-Jeff 66, St. Genevieve 32--Linda Samayoa scored 16 points and had 13 rebounds for Bell-Jeff (16-11).

The Guards played without starting point guard Cheryl Flores, who missed the game for undisclosed reasons.

DIVISION V-A FIRST ROUND

Cornerstone Christian 60, Imperial 43--Julie Tamai had 18 points, 10 rebounds and nine steals for the Eagles (16-4), who led by 18 points at halftime.
