Orangewood Defeats Cal Lutheran, 45-42
Brent Slagle’s three-pointer in overtime gave Orangewood Academy a 45-42 victory over Wildomar Cal Lutheran in a Division V-A second-round boys’ basketball game Thursday at Cal Lutheran.
Making their first playoff appearance, the Spartans (16-6) will meet the winner of Pico Rivera Mesrobian and Los Angeles Pilgrim in the quarterfinals.
Cal Lutheran (13-9) tied the score on a three-pointer by Andy Olsen with 10 seconds left in regulation and the C-hawks had a chance to win it with a second left, but Jason Steele missed the front end of a one-and-one to send the game into overtime.
