THOUSAND OAKS : Police Are Seeking Man Missing 10 Days

Share

Police and family members have launched a massive search for a missing Thousand Oaks engineer, Philip (Taylor) Kramer, who disappeared 10 days ago on his way home from Los Angeles International Airport.

Kramer, 42, who once played bass guitar in the rock band Iron Butterfly, was last heard from at 11:59 a.m. Feb. 12 when he placed a 911 call, said Dan Shields, his business partner and friend.

Details of the call were not available, however, Shields said Kramer was apparently distraught.

Telephone records place Kramer in the Calabasas area, moving toward Agoura, said Shields, who found out about the records Tuesday night.

“We’ve not ruled out anything,” Shields said. “I don’t even know what I think anymore. This is the first real lead we’ve had in 10 days.”

Kramer, who works for Total Multi-Media Inc. in Thousand Oaks, also called his wife on a cellular phone from the van he was driving that morning, said a family friend, Lisa Walsh.

The van, a dark green Ford Aerostar, is also missing.

“It’s very strange,” Walsh said. “I’ve never heard of anybody just disappearing like that before.”

More than 100 neighbors met over the weekend to help Kramer’s wife, Jennifer, work on finding her husband.

The couple have an 18-month-old daughter, and Jennifer has a son from a prior marriage, Walsh said.

After the meeting, family members and friends fanned out to post flyers as far north as Santa Barbara and as far west as Malibu, she said.

Kramer is 6 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds.

Anyone with information or who wants to join the search effort is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Department at 494-8200.
