Orange Coast needed two victories last week to make the Southern California playoffs and Shine contributed to the cause with strong performances. Shine, a basketball, volleyball and track and field standout at El Modena High, had 14 points and 14 rebounds as the Pirates beat Riverside, 73-70. She came back to score 20 points and get 19 rebounds as OCC beat Rancho Santiago, 96-48, in the regular-season finale. Shine is averaging 14 points and 10 rebounds.

* Fullerton, Freshman. She was seven of 11 from the field and had 19 points to help the Hornets upset second-place Saddleback, 67-56.
