CSUN Seniors Seek Library Donations

Share

To replenish the library collection at Cal State Northridge, members of the university’s senior class and their friends and family have been asked to make donations as part of the school’s first senior class project.

Each donation will go toward the purchase of a book in the student’s major.

Any donation over $25 will earn the student and donor a nameplate that will be placed in a book that the CSUN Journalism Department is heading “Leave Your Legacy at the Library.”

Last year’s Northridge quake caused more than $19 million in damage to CSUN, including extensive damage to the Delmar T. Oviatt Library. Recent budget cuts also diminished the library’s book-buying capability.

CSUN students and officials announced the project at a news conference Wednesday at the library.

To make a donation, make checks payable to: CSUN Foundation Library and mail to Library Administration, Oviatt Library, 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge 91330-8326. Also, indicate the name of the graduating senior to be honored and the department for which the book is to be purchased.
