Anthony Mason scored 15 of his season-high 26 points in the fourth quarter, including the go-ahead basket with 21 seconds to play, as the New York Knicks held the Chicago Bulls to 12 points in the final period to win, 93-89, Thursday night at New York.

Mason’s putback of a blocked shot by Scottie Pippen put the Knicks ahead, 91-89, and Mason put a hand in Pippen’s face as the Bull forward missed a long jumper. Pippen fouled Charles Oakley going for the rebound, and Oakley made both free throws with six seconds left. That sealed the victory, completing the Knicks’ comeback from a 22-point second-half deficit.

Pippen had 28 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Bulls. Mason added 12 rebounds for the Knicks.
