Man Killed When Car, Bus Collide

A North Hills man was killed early Friday when his car drifted across Hollywood Way into an oncoming city bus, police said.

Julio Hernandez, 20, was driving south on Hollywood Way south of Oak Street about 1 a.m. when his car drifted into the northbound lane and into a bus driven by Francis Delaine, Lt. Duane Dow of the Burbank Police Department said.

Fatal car crash--A caption accompanying a photo in Saturday’s Times incorrectly described a fatal car crash. The accident depicted occurred when a motorist drifted across the 300 block of Hollywood Way in Burbank and collided with an RTD bus.

While neither Delaine nor any passengers were injured, Hernandez was pronounced dead at St. Joseph Medical Center 50 minutes later, Dow said.
