The Los Angeles Police Department on Tuesday released a composite of a man who investigators say shot a Brinks guard during a holdup at a North Hollywood bank last month.

The Feb. 16 shooting occurred as the guard, Mynor Godinez, delivered money to a Bank of America branch at 6600 Laurel Canyon Blvd., police said.

Three men waited for the truck to arrive, then one of them approached the guard from the front, said Los Angeles police spokeswoman Lorie Taylor. Another approached him from behind, disarmed him and then shot him in the face, Taylor said.

Godinez jerked his head back as the gunman fired, and the bullet only grazed him, police said. He suffered a cut lip.

Police said the three men drove away in a white, four-door 1995 Plymouth Acclaim.

The gunman is described as a Latino or Middle Eastern man, 29 or 30 years old, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, with brown eyes, dark brown hair and a thick mustache.

Another suspect was of Latino or Middle Eastern descent, 40 to 45 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 180 pounds, with dark eyes, police said. He may have been wearing a gray wig. The driver of the getaway car was described as a stocky white man, 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with gray or blond hair.
