COLLEGE BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Canyons Outruns Mission

Gaby Halcovich was four for four, helping College of the Canyons to a 15-10 victory over Mission in a Western State Conference baseball game on Thursday at Canyons.

Halcovich had a double, a home run and four runs batted in. Chris Tashima added three hits and three runs batted in for Canyons (8-12, 4-2).

Kyle Lonsberry’s two-run single started the scoring in a five-run eighth inning that broke a 10-10 tie.

Desert 6, Antelope Valley 4--Erick Marks hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning for the Roadrunners (10-8, 4-2) in a Foothill Conference game at Antelope Valley.

Tim Tennell had two hits and an RBI for Antelope Valley (8-6-1, 3-2).

Hancock 10, Ventura 9--The Pirates (9-6, 3-3) rallied from a six-run deficit to tie the score, but made two miscues that gave the Bulldogs (11-6, 3-3) the winning run in the 10th inning of a WSC game at Ventura.

Justin Keller (0-3) walked J.T. Grennen to start the 10th and Tim Harris came on in relief. Harris threw a wild pitch that sent Grennen to second. Ray Angleson laid down a bunt that Harris threw past first base, allowing Grennen to score.

Brandon Knight had three hits for the Pirates, including a run-scoring triple in the third and a solo home run in the sixth.

Cuesta 13, Oxnard 5--John Pinon hit two home runs, one a grand slam, and had seven RBIs for the Cougars (11-8-1, 5-1) in a WSC loss at Cuesta.

Moorpark 5, Santa Barbara 1--Ryan Briggs, Britten Pond and Alex Alvarenga each collected two hits as the Raiders knocked off the Vaqueros in a WSC game at Moorpark.

Valley 3, Pierce 1--Tony Genarro recorded his fifth save of the season by striking out four consecutive Brahmas in the host Monarchs’ WSC victory.

Jorge Dorado (2-2) went 7 1/3 innings, scattering six hits to earn the victory.

Javier Dorado had a triple and scored all three runs for the Monarchs (7-9-1, 4-1-1). Brandon Mora added two hits and an RBI.
