2 More Say Teacher Abused Them
Los Angeles police announced Wednesday that two more boys have claimed they were molested by an elementary school teacher charged with abusing seven other students.
The boys, ages 12 and 14, made the allegations against Jeffrey Herbert Raker, 47, who taught at Hazeltine Avenue School until earlier this month, said Los Angeles Police Detective Raul Galindo. All of the alleged victims, including the two who came forward this week, have been identified as past and present students of Raker’s or members of a softball team he coached after classes.
Galindo said the investigation is ongoing and that his department plans to interview more members of the softball team before asking prosecutors to file additional charges against Raker, who remains in jail in lieu of $750,000 bail.
