Companies Urged to Vie for Environmental Awards
Companies and groups that market or promote environmental products and services are invited to compete for the fourth annual Excellence in Environmental Leadership awards.
The awards, presented by the Ventura County Economic Development Assn. and the Hazardous Waste Assn. of California, recognize firms and groups whose actions in the environmental field contribute to “increased awareness and understanding between government and industry.”
All areas of environmental compliance--including air, water, hazardous waste and solid waste--will be considered. Examples of possible entries include projects dealing with conservation, recycling, preservation, restoration, mitigation, reporting and monitoring.
Deadline for entries is June 9. Entries should include a poster and a brief written description of a project. Environmental professionals and representatives of business and government will judge the competition.
All posters will be displayed at an awards luncheon and alternate technology fair in July.
For details and entry forms, call Kina Batelaan at Century West Environmental, (805) 642-8137.
