Len Wood, a management consultant from Rancho Palos Verdes, has been appointed interim city manager by the City Council. He is to assume that post Monday.
Current City Manager Pamela Gibson announced last month that she is resigning, effective Friday, to become city manager of Sonoma, Calif.
The City Council, in a prepared statement, said Wood is expected to be La Palma’s interim city manager for about four months while a search is conducted for someone to fill the position permanently.
Wood is a former city manager of Claremont and Rancho Palos Verdes.
Wood will be paid $55 an hour and will not receive benefits during his tenure, the council said.
