OJAI VALLEY : No Letup Reported in Car Break-Ins

Share

A rash of car break-ins is continuing in the Ojai Valley, with thieves breaking into three or four cars a night, sheriff’s deputies said Friday.

More than 15 cars have been broken into during the early morning hours since Monday, mainly in the Saddle Mountain and Mirror Lake areas of Mira Monte, deputies said.

They said the thieves use a razor blade to cut the rubber gasket and make their way into the car, stealing anything they can carry easily. Most of the items stolen have been cellular phones, pagers, briefcases and purses. Deputies said they think the same people are responsible for all the break-ins.
