SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : District Approves 25% Increase in School Bus Charges
Bus fees for most students in the Capistrano Unified School District will go up 25% this fall.
An annual round-trip pass for a family with one or two children will be $225 for each, up from $180, as approved by trustees on Monday.
The increase will also affect households with more than two children riding the bus.
A round-trip pass for a third child will be $170, up from $135. A pass for a fourth child in a family will be $114, up from $90.
The district offers one-way annual passes, semester round-trip passes and one-way semester passes. All will rise 25%.
Families that purchase passes before Aug. 1 can save up to $10 per pass.
The district plans to keep books of 10 individual coupons for one-way trips at $10.
