COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Fullerton Splits Pair With Hawaii

Senetha Thomas and Traci Fischer hit home runs Thursday night to rally Cal State Fullerton to a 6-2 victory over Hawaii in the second game of a Big West Conference softball doubleheader.

Hawaii defeated Fullerton, 3-2, in the first game.

Thomas homered to right center to make it 2-1 in the second game and Fischer hit her third home run in the fourth to put Fullerton ahead, 3-2. The Titans got four hits in the sixth inning with back-to-back doubles by Fischer and Julie Williams.

In nonconference softball:

Southern California College 8-5, UC San Diego 2-10--Carrie Nelson had a two-run single in the first game and a two-run triple in the second for SCC (38-17).

In the Big West Conference women’s tennis quarterfinals:

UC Irvine and CS Fullerton were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Pacific and Nevada Las Vegas. In the ninth-place round robin match, Long Beach State defeated Utah State, 5-0.
