New on MCA/Universal Home Video is the 1955 comedy Ma and Pa Kettle at Waikiki ($15). In this go-round, Ma (Marjorie Main) and Pa (Percy Kilbride) leave their 14 children at a summer camp and go to Hawaii to help out a relative.

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of V-E Day, A&E; is airing The Winds of War (Sunday at 5 and 9 p.m.; Monday-Friday at 6 and 10 p.m. and Saturday at 5 and 9 p.m.). The 1983 ABC miniseries is based on Herman Wouk’s mammoth bestseller about the turbulent days leading up to World War II. Robert Mitchum, Ali MacGraw, Polly Bergen, Victoria Tennant and Jan-Michael Vincent star.

Howard Hesseman and Daniel J. Travanti guest on The Bob Newhart Show (Monday at 11 p.m. on Nickelodeon) in an episode in which Bob takes two therapy groups to a rustic retreat.
