The Capistrano Unified School District Foundation is planning its major annual fund-raising event of the year--a golf tournament--for May 8.
The group is seeking players, volunteers and sponsors for the tournament at Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club, and for donations of merchandise for an auction after the tournament.
The nonprofit foundation, the fund-raising arm of the South Orange County Educational Partnership, provides money for programs in the Capistrano Unified School District.
Nearly $21,000 was awarded to 56 teachers last year as a result of the group’s efforts. The money was used for projects such as installation of telephone lines, modems for computer classes and publication of a student magazine.
