Old Tucson Fire

Share

* Old Tucson was more than a movie studio and the recent fire (April 26) destroyed more than just buildings. Old Tucson’s location amid splendid saguaro cacti and classic Southwest scenery allowed generations of Americans to experience the Old West--at least as portrayed in the classic American Westerns filmed there. We in Los Angeles once shared that Western movie-making experience in the now long gone Corriganville.

I earnestly hope that Old Tucson will be restored, not just to make more movies but also to be a place where movie-making myth and actual Western reality form indelible impressions in the memories of future generations.
