An employee of a Sherman Oaks bail bond company was found shot to death Sunday inside the business, Los Angeles police said.

The body of the man, whose name was not released, was discovered at Willie’s Bail Bonds in the 4700 block of Van Nuys Boulevard just south of the Ventura Freeway. Another employee found the body when he unlocked the store and went inside, said Sgt. Andrew Voge.

Police arrived at the office about 2 p.m. Sunday and cordoned off a row of businesses that includes the bail bond office. They isolated the cinder-block building and an adjacent access road with yellow tape.

Investigators examined the site for hours and dusted for fingerprints on a black Lexus parked on the access road. Dozens of drivers slowed to ask what had drawn seven patrol cars to the normally staid neighborhood.

Authorities had no motive for the shooting Sunday, and Voge said there were no signs of forced entry into the business.
