Authorities on Thursday asked the public’s help in locating a 20-year-old developmentally disabled woman who wandered away from her board-and-care home last month and needs seizure medication.

Latasha Hooker was last seen the afternoon of April 28 leaving the residence near Fairfax Avenue and Pico Boulevard, said Terry McVerry of the Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center.

“We’re obviously very concerned about the fact she doesn’t have her medications, that someone could be taking advantage of her,” McVerry said. “We’ve called the hospitals. We don’t know what to do.”

Hooker, who communicates through sign language, by reading lips and by writing, has not had her seizure medication since the day she disappeared, McVerry said.

She is African American, 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 100 pounds. She was wearing a black tank top, plaid shorts, black stockings and black sandals.
