Woman Thrown From Car, Killed
A 23-year-old woman was killed Friday when she was thrown from her car after it overturned on the Antelope Valley Freeway, authorities said.
Jodi Williams of Lancaster and her 5-month-old daughter were headed south near Avenue S at 5:10 a.m. when she lost control and the car overturned. The vehicle rolled over the center divider and landed on its wheels in the northbound lanes, according to Officer Miguel Siordia of the California Highway Patrol.
Williams, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car and died of massive head injuries, Siordia said. Her daughter, who was in a child safety seat, was not injured, Siordia said.
