New Administrator’s Contract Is Approved
Ventura County supervisors approved a contract Tuesday that pays new county Chief Administrative Officer Lin Koester $190,000 a year in salary and benefits.
The two-year contract includes an option to renew, which Koester said he will probably exercise.
Koester, Simi Valley’s city manager, was selected as the new county administrator on May 2 following a four-month statewide search. He will replace former county manager Richard Wittenberg, who accepted a similar job in Santa Clara County in January. Koester’s compensation package is roughly the same as Wittenberg’s pay and benefits before his departure.
Koester, 53, will begin his new job June 19.
He said, however, that he plans to accompany county officials to New York later this month to talk to the county’s bond rating agencies.
