INGLEWOOD : Rapper Tone Loc Taken to Hospital After Collapsing
Rapper Tone Loc collapsed on the court during halftime of the Lakers and San Antonio Spurs playoff game at the Forum on Thursday.
Loc was treated by paramedics and Laker team doctors for about 15 minutes before he was taken off the court on a stretcher.
“He was alert when he left for the hospital,” said Steve Lombardo, a doctor for the Lakers.
Paramedics who took him to Centinela Hospital Medical Center said they were told that Loc, whose real name is Anthony T. Smith, has had a history of epileptic-type seizures. Laker spokesman John Black said Loc is in stable condition and is being kept overnight for observation.
Loc was on the court at halftime to take part in a celebrity musical chairs game and collapsed moments afterward.
