School Invites Public to Old World Fair

Lindero Canyon Middle School will hold an Old World fair today designed to be fun, while at the same time giving students a better feel for history.

The public is invited to watch as students barter and make handcrafted goods. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Students will split into groups of three or four to operate 80 to 100 booths with themes from pre-Columbian Asia and Europe.

“The kids research the roles, and they write generally a first-person narrative on what it’s like to be that character,” said Ron Kaiser, the school’s principal.

“Then, they impersonate that character.”

Parents are encouraged to interact with the students, some of whom will mimic the accents of the people they have studied.

The school is at 5844 N. Larboard Lane, Agoura Hills. For information call (818) 889-2134.
