Weekend TV : Memorial Weekend Offers a Mixed Bill
The Memorial Day weekend offers a selection of holiday shows, including PBS’ “The National Memorial Day Concert,” Sunday at 7:30 p.m. on KCET-TV Channel 28, and 4:30 p.m. KVCR-TV Channel 24. The program, hosted by Ossie Davis in Washington, features entertainment by John Denver, Marilyn McCoo, George Clooney, John Cullum, Charles Durning and Rod Steiger.
Director Steven Spielberg receives the American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award, hosted by Tom Hanks and Bernadette Peters, tonight on NBC at 10.
For auto-racing fans, drivers will start their engines at the Indianapolis 500 Sunday at 8 a.m. on ABC.
