A 24-year-old Mill Valley man was listed in stable condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange on Sunday after being beaten up and stabbed by a group of teen-agers on a street in Huntington Beach, police said.

Adam Hurley was “knocked to the ground and kicked repeatedly” and stabbed in the lower back shortly after midnight Saturday by a group of five or six males between the ages of 15 and 18, said Lt. Jim Cutshaw of the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Hurley had apparently been walking near the intersection of 6th Street and Walnut Avenue when the group attacked him, Cutshaw said.

Hurley managed to get away and run down 6th Street to Pacific Coast Highway where he discovered he had been stabbed, according to police.

Police have no motive for the attack, Cutshaw said.
