Billfolds Missing at Market
Wallets were stolen from at least four women attending a farmers’ market in Thousand Oaks on Thursday.
The women reported that their billfolds were missing from their purses after visiting the market in The Oaks mall parking lot, said Sgt. Will Howe of the Sheriff’s Department.
Police later recovered three of the wallets in a greenbelt area across the freeway from the mall, Howe said. The victims’ identification, credit cards and other personal effects were still there, but the cash had been removed.
Deputies said they had no leads on a suspect Thursday evening. Anyone with information relating to the thefts can contact the Sheriff’s Department at (805) 494-8200.
