CALABASAS : Schools Get Grant to Update Technology

Share

The Las Virgenes Unified School District has received a $10,000 grant from MCI Telecommunications Corp. to help update technology in the schools, district officials said.

The money will be used to assist schools in obtaining access to the Internet, said Gina Amenta, a teacher who wrote the grant application for the district.

“This type of commitment is what is vital to ensure that our children are prepared for the 21st Century,” Fredda Hamilton, a representative of the company, said. “I challenge other corporations to be as positive and proactive as MCI has been.”
