For Their Next Trick . . . Back-to-Back Titles?

Share

You may sooner see Jerry Buss stopping pucks in front of the Kings’ net than a repeat of what happened on the golf course last week when John Black of the Lakers’ front office and Andy Silverman of the Kings’ front office played the Nicklaus Resort Course at PGA West.

Black and Silverman hit their drives on the par-four 10th two feet apart, about 82 yards from the hole.

Black took out a pitching wedge and holed the shot for an eagle. He reacted in the normal fashion.

“I fell down,” he said.

Black interrupted his celebration so he could watch Silverman pull a pitching wedge from his bag and . . . hole the shot, thus accomplishing a rare double: back-to-back eagles.

“I was so excited about my eagle,” Black said. “It lasted about a minute.”
