Voting Today in 2 Cities
Voters in Thousand Oaks will go to the polls today to choose the fifth member of the Thousand Oaks City Council, as Camarillo voters decide the fate of a $55-million school bond initiative in the Pleasant Valley School District.
Thousand Oaks city officials are cautioning residents to check the back of their sample ballot before heading off to their usual polling place. Anticipating a small turnout, county election officials have reduced the number of polling places from 80 to 32. For information, call the city clerk’s office at 449-2151.
Five candidates are seeking the seat left vacant when Frank Schillo was elected to the County Board of Supervisors.
In Camarillo, officials are expecting a 35% voter turnout for the district’s third attempt at passing a multimillion-dollar bond election, which must receive two-thirds of the vote to pass. For polling information, call 482-2763.
Polling places in both cities will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
