EASTSIDE : Boy Killed, 2 Wounded in Apparent Gang Attack
Gunmen killed a teen-age boy Tuesday and wounded two other people in an apparent gang retaliation.
The shootings occurred just before 10 a.m. in the 300 block of South Via Los Santos Street, said Los Angeles police spokeswoman Cherie Clair.
Police were looking for three men in ski masks who pulled up in a gray van, license number 2WGC926, which had been reported stolen in East Los Angeles, Clair said. Two assailants got out and began firing as they chased the victims through the grounds of an apartment complex. The boy’s name and age were not released, but authorities said the shooting may have been in retaliation for the killing of a 12-year-old boy on Monday.
