It’s a Bit of Everything at Cerritos and UCLA : Arts: Each venue announces ‘95-96 schedule. Events include opera, dance, jazz, classical concerts, children’s theater and a commissioned work.

The UCLA Center for the Performing Arts and the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts have announced their eclectic 1995-96 seasons.

At UCLA, program highlights include two Los Angeles premieres--Philip Glass’ opera for ensemble and film, “La Belle et la Be^te,” based on Jean Cocteau’s 1946 film, and Mark Morris’ staging of Gluck’s “Orfeo ed Euridice.”

The Cerritos Center will present its first commissioned work, the jazz piece “Sounds Without Nouns,” by Anthony Davis of New York.

Because of earthquake repairs, UCLA will present more than 50 programs at various venues on and off campus, primarily Wadsworth Theater, the Wiltern Theatre and Schoenberg Hall. Other highlights include:

* Sept. 5-Oct. 15: Stomp percussion theater.

* Oct. 8: Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra.

* Oct. 20: St. Petersburg Symphony, Alexander Dmitriev, conductor; Hae-Jung Kim, pianist.

* Oct. 20-21: Compagnie Maguy Marin, “Waterzooi.”

* Oct. 22: Paco de Lucio, flamenco guitar.

* Nov. 9-12: “La Belle et la Be^te,” music by Philip Glass, film by Cocteau.

* Nov. 11: Teatro delle Briciole, children’s theater.

* Nov. 17-18: Tango X 2.

* Dec. 8-9: Jiri Kylian’s Nederlands Dans Theater 3, West Coast debut.

* Feb. 1: Dmitri Pokrovsky Ensemble, Stravinsky’s “Les Noces.”

* March 2: Menahem Pessler, piano.

* March 10: Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, violin.

* March 15-16: Les Ballets Africains, “Heritage.”

* March 24: Borodin String Quartet.

* April 26-28: “Orfeo ed Euridice,” soloists and the Handel and Haydn Society Orchestra and Chorus, Christopher Hogwood, conductor; Mark Morris, stage director and choreographer.

* April 30: Ensemble Modern, John Adams, conductor: “From Adams to Zappa.”

* May 6: Spalding Gray, storyteller.

The Cerritos Center season will open with the Beach Boys on Aug. 17 and will also include, among 49 events:

* Oct. 9: Midori, violin; Robert McDonald, piano.

* Oct. 6-8: Central Ballet of China, “Giselle,” “The Red Detachment,” shorter repertory.

* Oct. 19-20: Bolshoi Symphony, Alexander Lazerev, conductor.

* Nov. 30-Dec. 3: Bolshoi Ballet’s Grigorovich Company, led by former Bolshoi Ballet director Yuri Grigorovich, in the “Nutcracker.”

* Jan. 5-6: Gregory Hines, supporting act to be announced.

* Jan. 13: Soprano Kathleen Battle.

* Feb. 3: Anthony Davis’ “Sounds Without Nouns.”

* Feb. 10-11: Boys Choir of Harlem, Walter J. Turnbull, director.

* Feb. 15-16: Boston Symphony Orchestra, Seiji Ozawa, conductor.

* Feb. 20-21: American Indian Dance Theatre.

* Feb. 27: Yo-Yo Ma, cello; Jeffrey Kahane, piano.

* March 26-31: Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman,” with Hal Holbrook.

* April 17-21: Verdi’s “La Traviata,” New York City Opera National Company.

* April 27: Kronos Quartet.
