Eight people were injured in a collision in Simi Valley on Tuesday night, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 8:35 p.m. near Los Angeles Avenue and Hubbard Street, police said. One of the cars was driving eastbound on Los Angeles Avenue and the other was driving westbound when it turned left, and the two cars collided, said Lt. Don Austin.

“Only one appeared to have serious injuries,” Austin said. “We had everything from children to adults. The one who was hurt bad, a woman, looked pretty bad.”

Several passengers had to be extricated from one of the vehicles. Two fire engines and three ambulances were called to the scene, said Ventura County Fire Department spokeswoman Tracy Valencia.

Six of the victims were transported to Simi Valley Adventist Hospital, including a toddler who was driven by an ambulance supervisor. The other two were taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center. Their conditions were not released Tuesday night.
