THOUSAND OAKS : Foundation Plans Fete for Ray Bradbury
The Thousand Oaks Library Foundation is throwing a 75th birthday party for “Fahrenheit 451” author Ray Bradbury.
The foundation has asked the City Council to allow it to use the Forum Theater rent-free for a party Aug. 22 to celebrate the science fiction writer’s birthday.
The council will consider waiving the $400 fee at its meeting Tuesday.
Bradbury has helped raise funds for the library foundation over the years, and library officials want to return the favor by holding the party.
The event will include a reception, a program of readings and celebrity entertainment, and autographed book sales.
