EMMY WEB: The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in North Hollywood will launch its own World Wide Web site on the Internet on July 20 at 5:40 a.m., coinciding with the live announcements for the 47th annual Primetime Emmy Awards. . . . at https://www.emmys.org/, the site will provide Emmy trivia and a selection of historical photographs for devotees.

FATAL CONFRONTATION: A woman who was shot and killed during a standoff with sheriff’s deputies on a Kern County highway was identified Thursday as Suzannah Casas Cody of Granada Hills (B1). . . . On Wednesday, Cody led deputies on a high-speed chase and was shot afterward when she apparently pointed a gun at officers. Cody had a previous standoff with police in February.

SUPER BOWLER: Tish Johnson is literally bowling for dollars. . . . The Northridge resident may soon become the fifth professional woman bowler ever to win $100,000 or more in one season. The reason: increased television and corporate interest in the Ladies Professional Bowlers Tour (C10). Said Johnson: “I think the tour is really going to explode in the next few years.”
