Hector Monjardin will defend his state junior lightweight championship in a rematch against Isagani (Little Guns) Pumar in the main event of a six-bout professional boxing card July 12 at the Warner Center Marriott.

Monjardin, from Compton, was considered one of the top prospects in Southern California when he was stopped by the relatively unheralded Pumar in the fourth round of a non-title fight at the Grand Olympic Auditorium in February.

Pumar, from Manila, has a record of 23-6-2 with 12 knockouts. Monjardin is 15-6-1 with eight knockouts.
