SANTA ANA : Rancho Santiago Sets Anniversary Events
The Rancho Santiago Community College District will celebrate its 80th anniversary this year, and officials are seeking alumni and former employees to join in commemorative events.
The celebration will be held Oct. 6 and 7 and highlights include the homecoming football game against Riverside Community College. The game will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 7 at Santa Ana Stadium, spokesman Dale Ruhe said.
The college was founded as Santa Ana Junior College in 1915, when it served 12 students. The college district now has campuses in Santa Ana and Orange and serves more than 40,000 people, Ruhe said.
Former students and staff who are interested in receiving information about the events should call the District Relations Office at (714) 564-6093 or write the college in care of District Relations, 1530 W. 17th St., Santa Ana 92706.
