Countywide : Agencies to Sponsor Domestic Abuse Fair
About 25 community agencies, including the Nicole Brown Simpson Charitable Foundation and Laura’s House, are sponsoring a free fair Saturday to educate families about domestic abuse.
“It’s a chance for people to network with key agencies in the community,” said Linda Lee, a spokeswoman for Laura’s House, which provides counseling and a shelter for battered women.
Children and adults can participate in the four-hour event, which will feature self-defense demonstrations, as well as speakers who will discuss solutions to domestic violence. Entertainment includes music, clowns, storytelling and a coloring contest for children, and there will be food.
The fair will be from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Youth and Group Facility at Dana Point Harbor. Information: (714) 361-3775.
