BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Lind, Royals Settle, Part Ways
Chico Lind, the Gold Glove second baseman whose disappearance last month infuriated the Kansas City Royals, has cleared waivers and reached a financial settlement with the team.
Lind was in the final year of a contract paying him $2.6 million annually. He was to receive about $2.31 million because of the strike, and reportedly settled for about $303,000 less than that.
Lind skipped a game June 2, apparently after his wife served him with divorce papers. He has not played since.
