Encino : Pair Steal Mercedes From Paula Abdul

Pop superstar Paula Abdul’s Mercedes-Benz was stolen in Encino when she left it running in front of a valet and two men jumped in it and sped off, police said Wednesday.

Abdul pulled her white 1994 300SL into a parking garage in the 16100 block of Ventura Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon, left the car running and walked over to the valet to get her ticket when two Latino men got into the car and raced off, said Sgt. Dan Mastro of the Los Angeles Police Department.

“The men had obviously staked out the location,” Mastro said. “They were just waiting for any car.”

Mastro said Abdul was “extremely upset” after the 1:30 p.m. theft in front of Delmonico’s restaurant.

The thieves are described as between the ages of 25 and 20, and wearing dark clothing, Mastro said.

“Everybody at the station was hyped-up because it was Paula Abdul’s car,” Mastro said. “We have got to find this car.”
