Sylmar : Man’s Body Found Near Freeways
The body of a man who apparently died several days ago of unknown causes was found Wednesday morning in brush near the intersection of the Golden State and Antelope Valley freeways, authorities said.
The unidentified man was discovered about 8:20 a.m. by two people searching along Foothill Boulevard for discarded mattresses they could sell, said Detective Frank Bishop of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division.
The body was found about half a mile south of Sierra Highway in a small embankment about 20 yards from the road.
Bishop said identification belonging to a 35-year-old male Latino from Sylmar was found on the body, but police officials have not confirmed the identity.
“We will have to identify him through fingerprints,” Bishop said.
LAPD officials also are uncertain if the man suffered any injuries because of the partially decomposed state of his body, Bishop said.
