He Hates PGA’s Price, and We Don’t Mean Nick

Concerning “Sales Are Slow for PGA Tickets” [July 25], Mr. Magnusson shouldn’t so quickly dismiss the notion that ticket prices are keeping people away. Having attended many L.A. Opens in the past, I had also anticipated attending the PGA in August. That was, until I received my ticket information in the mail. Maybe Mr. Magnusson should take note of the fact that the cheapest ticket package to attend the PGA for two days is at least twice as expensive as the same tickets for the L.A. Open ($100 vs. $50). This for a tournament to be held on the exact same course, with many of the same players.

I had even considered becoming a volunteer as a way of seeing the tournament free of charge. Guess what? It costs you $140 to become a volunteer.
