Nakatani Rides Molistar to Victory in CTBA Stakes
Molistar, winner of a maiden race at Hollywood Park in her debut two weeks ago, returned to the winner’s circle at Del Mar Friday night, scoring a four-length victory over General Idea in the $106,250 California Thoroughbred Breeders Assn. Stakes.
Corey Nakatani, who rode the winners of both divisions of the Oceanside Stakes on opening day Wednesday, has ridden Molistar in both of her victories. Molistar, a 2-year-old daughter of Prized and Mollywaki, is trained by Bob Marshall, who is also one of her owners and breeders.
Molistar paid $6.80. The time for six furlongs was 1:10 1/5. General Idea finished one length ahead of Reina De Corazon, who nosed out Romantic Fibs for third place.
