Westside : OFF WITH THEIR HEADS
The Santa Monica Airport Commission has been under attack lately from airport neighbors who are upset about noise and crashes.
Now the commission has a new thorn in its side.
He is Santa Monica City Councilman Ken Genser, who at a meeting last week suggested canning the whole crew of commissioners. Genser said the panel’s petty squabbling renders it inefficient.
As a member of a panel that has raised petty squabbling to an art form, he ought to know.
Genser said people routinely complain that members of the Airport Commission give short shrift to their concerns. “The commission is not weighing various points of view and trying to arrive at intelligent decisions,” Genser said.
